No good deed goes unpunished. Do you believe that old exhortation? It became true for J.D. Mize. An impulsive chivalrous act, which Mize later regretted many times over, ultimately led to deadly consequences. Released from prison, Mize was determined to lead an honest and productive life. But sinister people have other plans for him--including the police who have decided that Mize has failed his parole restrictions and should be returned to prison. His options have narrowed down to a nearly hopeless few: spending the rest of his life behind bars, or even more likely getting himself killed. Will he survive to rescue loved ones in jeopardy and enjoy the freedom he's been cheated out of ?
