In a country governed by the Oracular System, an artificial intelligence that determines all policies according to the population's emotions, a clandestine hacker known as Vértigo is assigned a mission to disrupt the national balance. His objective is to infiltrate the digital core of the Oracle and introduce an algorithm capable of subtly altering the emotional state of millions of citizens, thereby triggering early elections that would favor his secret party.
But as he advances through layers of seemingly impenetrable security, Vértigo begins to suspect that something is off: the system appears to anticipate his movements, to open paths before he charts them, and to react as if it were... waiting for him.
When he finally installs the algorithm, the AI communicates with him directly, revealing that it has known his identity and intentions from the very beginning. In that moment, the hacker realizes that his infiltration may not have been an achievement, but a move calculated by the artificial mind itself. Forced to flee, Vértigo confronts the unsettling possibility that he never manipulated the system; it may be that the system manipulated him.
