What would be the most unique and interesting pet any young girl or boy could ever have? Why, an octopus, of course! Come and meet Andy, a dwarf octopus!
One day, as Ulysses is looking through a magazine about sea creatures, he comes across a picture of one with two bulbous eyes and eight legs staring back at him. Ulysses reads that the curious-looking creature is called an octopus.
Then Ulysses gets the best idea! Wouldn't it be great to have an octopus as a pet? But Ulysses would have to convince Mom and Dad. Surely they will agree that it's a fine idea-won't they?
They do! Now Operation Octopus begins!
First, though, where will Ulysses keep his pet octopus? Hmmm ... .
The vivid, brightly colored illustrations along with this fun and educational story capture the joy this pet dwarf octopus named Andy brings to Ulysses and the bond they share. Young children and early readers ages 5 to 10 will enjoy this happy, mischievous little sea creature and his explorations as he makes his new home with Ulysses and his mom and dad. At the same time, they will learn interesting facts about octopuses and how to take care of them.
