Knowing the poisoned bite will bring more predators and ruin their winter supplies, Mrs. Claus insists they must abandon their home. Guided by the North Star, the couple prepares for a desperate migration into the unknown frozen north.

With only eight reindeer remaining-led by the swift Dashyr and Dannr-Nicholas and Mrs. Claus journey across endless darkness beneath the aurora borealis. They face weeks without sunlight, survive attacks from wolves and polar bears, hunt seals and fish across the frozen sea, and struggle against the brutal forces of the Arctic.

Their greatest trial comes when the ice itself begins to break apart, forcing a desperate escape across a collapsing frozen ocean. In the chaos, the herd is lost, leaving only Dashyr and Dannr to carry the exhausted couple forward.
