She has a B.A. in English and an M.Ed. in Moderate Learning Disabilities. She is currently certified as an English, ESL, phonics, and special education teacher. She has published several articles with the National Association of Special Education Teachers. This is the first of her middle grade books that she has published. Through Kerri's experiences, she has seen that her students love reading about children protagonists, adventure, and books with fantasy elements.
