In her book, The Minor Prophets: Who Are They? author Bev Scanlon introduces readers to some important people from the Bible. The Minor Prophets all have relevant, important messages from God.

Jonah was sent to Nineveh, Assyria, to tell them of the pending destruction of their city because of their sinfulness. While we think of Jonah inside the whaleit was not a whaleJonahs story is really about his disobedience, his pouting, and Gods compassionate heart. Nahum was sent back to Nineveha country of people he didnt knowto give them the same message Jonah had delivered a hundred years earlier. It is a story of forgetfulness of right actions and slipping back into disobedience. Obadiahs story is based on a rich history lesson of Esau and Jacob that makes clear the vision he had from God. He was sent to Edom with the same message as Jonah and Nahum delivered to Ninevehthe sinfulness and wickedness had to end.
