He came to care for the child. He stayed for the father.
Two years after losing his husband in a plane crash, Gabriel Karoly has built his life around their young daughter, Isabella, who came into their lives just months before Wyatt's death. His promising art career has stalled, his friends worry he's disappearing, and Gabe can't imagine falling in love again. Moving on would mean accepting the one thing he's still not ready to face: Wyatt isn't coming back.
Then he hires Matthew.
Smart, energetic, and eager to please, Matthew quickly puts Gabe's worries about the optics of hiring a young male live-in caretaker to rest. He's young and undeniably attractive, but he's also impressively knowledgeable about childcare and always willing to go above and beyond. Most importantly, Isabella adores him.
Gabe does too.
Matthew has wounds of his own. Rejected by his family, he's had to fight harder than most to get where he is today. Yet he's optimistic, gentle, modest, and genuinely impressed by the man Gabe is. With Matthew around, new beginnings suddenly seem possible.
But the closer Gabe gets to Matthew, the further he drifts from the people who knew him before. Then strange things begin happening around their isolated country home. Gabe can't shake the feeling that his family is in danger.
By the time he starts to wonder how well he knows the young man he's fallen for, Matthew is already inside his home, his family, and his heart.
The Manny is the second standalone novel in the Guilty Pleasures Editions series.
