Science Fiction classic, by John W Campbell, 1938. I am legend Science Fiction classic by Richard Matheson,1954. Read both. Avoid the films. Inspiration for this, even if Mr Farmer might have forgotten them. I have to agree with other reviewers, it starts slow, but very well done for a débuté.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read. It's a very unique take on PA fiction with the cast, the bad guys, and the geographic setting. The writing was very good. More so, considering this is the author's first work. The cast of characters is awesome, and I can't wait to read Book 2 and continue the story. We'll done, Mr. Farmer. Keep 'em coming.

I've never read anything quite like this before, and that's saying something because I spend all of my spare time reading. Definitely a different take on dystopian fiction, looking forward to reading the 2nd book.
