Scrubby, a little pine tree at the Christmas tree farm, knows he will never get to go to the White House or any other special place. He isn't a Fraser fir or a Colorado blue spruce. He's just a scrub pine. He's so little and scrawny that no family would ever pick him for their tree. Although King, the crow, assures him that he has his own special purpose, Scrubby can't block out the jeers of the other trees. Maybe they're right. Maybe he is useless.
