Asher and Alda Bennett are twins. They are very close and lead a normal life-until Asher watches his sister get swallowed up by the earth one night!
Turns out they aren't so 'normal'. They are Archaic Veneficus, one of two Veneficus communities separated to prevent war.
Only one channel exists between the two worlds now, that's the Passage. This is guarded, by a set of twins-the Keepers, whose job it is to keep the peace and ultimately to stop war, and the destruction and devastation it would bring.
