Groundshine-Radiation from material deposited on the ground, buildings, and other objects, from radioactive fallout after a nuclear or dirty bomb detonation.

They were closing in on the suspects, but one step behind.

Police detective, Alec Theron, uncovers the theft of uranium buried decades earlier-radioactive material left behind from the World War II, Manhattan Project, buried beneath a mound of clay a few miles from Niagara Falls. He knows it's missing. He's close to finding the terrorists who took it.

But every lead arrives one deadly step too late and the unthinkable happens.

A dirty bomb detonates at the U.S.-Canadian border in Niagara Falls, tearing through an international bridge and AMTRAK station. Radioactive fallout spreads silently beneath winter skies, dispersing radioactive dust across neighborhoods, streets, and riverbanks.

Entire neighborhoods are evacuated. The blast zone becomes a fenced dead zone covering the north end of the city. A border crossing is destroyed, stopping railroad traffic as well as cars and trucks, across a destroyed bridge.
