At the first hint of the solar wind, The Ship slowed and drifted toward the Sun. Time was of little concern, as was detection. As The Ship passed the orbit of the inner gas giant, powerful bursts of energy poured through the anti-detection fields to bathe the moon of the third planet with their hidden message. Still, there was no fear of discovery. The Ship's emissions were masked by the solar radiation with which they mingled. The message was heard. Devices that had been silent for ages activated their transmitters and regurgitated a prodigious accumulation of data. As the ship slowly approached the third planet, it processed and correlated the data searching for the answers it needed. At 12:01 AM Greenwich Mean Time on the second day of January, The Ship settled into orbit, deactivated its anti-detection fields, and sent the first message to the inhabitants of Planet Earth, a message that heralded a new era for mankind.
