Welcome to the Halloway Grand. Checkout is not guaranteed.
June Bell can manage demanding guests, impossible weddings, and disasters involving champagne towers. But after one spectacular catastrophe destroys her career, she inherits a condemned hotel in Morrow, Indiana-along with a deadline no sane person would accept.
Reopen the Halloway Grand by Halloween. Survive thirty-one nights. Earn thirteen five-star reviews.
The trouble is, the dead staff still report for duty. The elevator stops at floors that do not exist. Room 13 appears only when it wants something. And a smiling presence beneath the hotel has begun taking reservations in June's name.
Her only chance is an uneasy alliance with Gideon Pike, the fire marshal determined to condemn the building-and discover what happened to the father who vanished inside it twenty-seven years ago.
As guests arrive and the hotel's rules tighten, June learns that every act of hospitality carries a hidden price. A room can become a prison. A promise can become a contract. And the Halloway Grand never forgets a debt.
To save the living, release the dead, and keep an entire town from checking in forever, June must do what no Halloway proprietor has ever dared: open the doors without allowing the hotel to own anyone who walks through them.
Darkly funny, genuinely haunting, and filled with stubborn ghosts, impossible guests, small-town secrets, and hard-won hope, The Dead Don't Leave Reviews is a supernatural horror comedy about grief, power, found family, and the dangerous difference between welcoming someone and refusing to let them leave.
