The Carpenter Bee illustrates the importance of all living things, describing both our responsibility to help those in need and the resultant intrinsic reward we experience as part of a greater whole, that sense of community.
Beautifully illustrated
The spectacular photos and illustrations throughout the book are sure to mesmerize readers to the last page.
Book's Powerful Theme: Knowledge is Power
The book's child narrator overcomes fear of the unknown by using her library's resources and staff to demystify the carpenter bee. Empowered and informed, she is able to appreciate the small, hardworking, injured creature and see its true beauty. Provides opportunity for educators, parents, and children to discuss how giving to and caring for others adds meaning and purpose to our lives.
