I was sitting on a bench about thirty meters from the fountain. I observed a man standing next to the fountain. He kept looking at his watch as if he was waiting for someone. Then I saw a woman approaching him from behind. She was very attractive and had a large shoulder bag over her left shoulder. He hadn't noticed her. When she got close to him, she took what looked like a shiny piece of metal pipe from her bag and held it to the back of his head. The man instantly collapsed. I did not hear a shot being fired. I now assume the shiny metal pipe must have been a gun with a silencer. The woman walked off briskly and disappeared through the Elizabeth Street exit. She was wearing a black business suit and had long blonde hair. This was reported an eye witness to Detective Inspector George Washington as he was investigating the disappearance of a prominent local businessman.This is the third book in the series of Detective George Washington's cases. As always, he uses his skills and intuition to solve the clever puzzle the blonde assassin has prepared for him.
