Dave, a busy Dad, husband, software sales executive, and die-hard football fan thought he had a complete, balanced life. Like any good Dad, he volunteered for Scout campouts and nearly pulled his hamstring chasing down fly balls at his son's baseball practice. Noah, his son, had it all - a good bike, cool video games, and some funny friends. But there was one thing standing between Noah and 5th grade dominance: playing on a soccer team with his school playground buddies. On a routine Monday morning, Noah dropped a question on his Dad that would change his life forever: Dad? Would you coach our soccer team? Dave doesn't understand soccer. In fact, he thinks the game is boring and pointless. Can everyone just pick up the ball and run with it? Before Dave could learn the difference between a free kick and throw-in, he was standing at a local soccer field with ten sets of young, impressionable eyes looking to him - the soccer newbie - for guidance. Would Dave raise to the opportunity, overcoming his cluelessness, the upset stomachs, bee stings, horrific injuries and inflated egos to hold the team and himself together? How would colorful characters like the scared and unsure Oliver and the confident and headstrong Turk react to Dave's adventurous brand of coaching? Congratulations: you are one click away from going on a thrill ride with the Bad News Kickers, a goofy, unpredictable, crazy group of kids ready to change the world - one kick at a time.
