The story follows two old friends who met during their service as Australian submariners.

These two old guys are rascals like many submariners of their era, and they are not ready to slow down or follow a normal retirement plan. The idea of road trip to re kindle their friendship and escape the tyranny of a repressive aged care resort sees them on the road together with a plan to meet up with their wives at a veteran's conventions in another state.
