A Treatise Concerning the Principles of Human Knowledge is a seminal work of early modern philosophy that presents George Berkeley's theory of immaterialism. His central thesis, esse est percipi (to be is to be perceived), posits that physical objects are nothing more than collections of sensations or ideas in the minds of perceivers.
