Walter Bowen III is a privileged young man who someday dreams of holding the highest office in the land. During Spring Break, his sophomore year at Yale, there was a horrible accident aboard the family yacht. His best friend is now missing or possibly dead. Walter fears for his own life while lost at sea.
He has only a deck chair keeping him afloat when he's caught in the prevailing current and swept away from land. He must hold on for life. Walter is discovered half-drowned, suffering from dehydration and blistered skin due to the salt water and sun exposure. Grateful to be alive, he soon discovers his situation has gone from bad to worse. The ship is modern, but the crew's codes of conduct are centuries old. Uninterested in his family's wealth and influence, this crew is used to taking what they want. Walter now has to fend for his life while being enslaved by these modern day pirates. Will he be able to survive the tasks he is forced to perform while trying to save his own life? College student, Walter, don't call me - Wally, at first fights back, then tries to get along. But all of his private Tudors and expensive education could never prepare him for this. Transcendence Island is a fast-paced, plot-driven novel, high-seas adventure.Welcome to Transcendence Island!
King weaves a compelling tale of hardship and loss. He throws the reader into a torrential downpour of events. You'll fall in love with the XO! *** Matthew John Meagher I was in no way prepared for how strangely addicting this novel would be. .. *** Cam Jones ...especially like the intelligent, almost philosophical angle that gives this story an edge over a typical action/thriller. *** Laura ClarkeWarning! When you start reading, you won't be able to stop!
