Today I Ate a Biscuit is a work of literary absurdism that transforms one impossibly ordinary moment into something quietly epic, treating the anticipation, consumption, and contemplation of a single biscuit with all the seriousness it never asked for and all the depth it could never deserve.
It began with a biscuit. Not a grand biscuit, nor a terrible one, simply a biscuit, unremarkable in every way but the one that mattered most: it was there.
From the first bite to the final crumb, hunger wrestles with hesitation. A knock at the door threatens everything. A phone may or may not be ringing. The refrigerator demands to be checked at least three times. And somewhere along the way, the great philosophical questions of our time must be confronted, including whether regret tastes different when it is edible.
What unfolds is a contemplative, subtly comic journey through persistence, doubt, distraction, redemption, and peace. Beneath the absurdity lies a reflection on the act of continuing when there is no clear reason to, an ode to imperfection, an examination of patience, and, somehow, a quiet celebration of knowing when something is enough.
The biscuit is long gone now, but its story remains.
