The Time Machine by H.G. Wells is a science fiction novel published in 1895. The story follows an unnamed time traveler who builds a machine capable of traveling through time. He embarks on a journey to the year 802,701 AD, where he finds that humanity has evolved into two distinct species: the Eloi and the Morlocks. The Eloi are peaceful and childlike, while the Morlocks are savage and live underground. The time traveler becomes embroiled in a struggle between the two species and must find a way to return to his own time. The novel explores themes of evolution, class struggle, and the dangers of technology. It is considered a classic of science fiction and has been adapted into numerous films, television shows, and other media. The Time Traveller (for so it will be convenient to speak of him) was expounding a recondite matter to us. His grey eyes shone and twinkled, and his usually pale face was flushed and animated. The fire burned brightly, and the soft radiance of the incandescent lights in the lilies of silver caught the bubbles that flashed and passed in our glasses. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
