I'll never forget the day my dad told me I was adopted.
He said it as a joke - just words spoken in passing - but I didn't know that at the time. I believed him. And for years, that moment shaped the way I saw myself. I began to wonder if I really belonged, if I had ever truly been wanted, or if I was somehow a mistake that just slipped through the cracks.
The enemy took that lie and ran with it. He whispered doubt into my mind - twisting a childish misunderstanding into a wound that made me question my worth. I didn't realize how deeply those words had settled until much later, when God began to uncover them and show me what was really true: that I was never unwanted, never misplaced, and never unseen.
The God Who Sees Me is the story of how He did that. It's part memoir, part Bible study - a journey through my own search for identity woven together with the story of Hagar, a woman who also felt forgotten and unseen. When I read about her running into the wilderness, I saw myself. She wasn't running toward God; she was running from pain. But even there, the Lord found her. And that's exactly what He did for me.
This isn't a story about perfection - it's a story about how truth sets us free. Through heartbreak, confusion, and the slow work of healing, I discovered that God doesn't define us by what others say, or even by what we've believed about ourselves. He defines us by His love. And when He looked at me, He didn't see someone lost - He saw a daughter.
In these pages, I invite you into that same discovery. You'll walk with me through the tender places where God replaced the lies with His truth, and through the story of Hagar, where He revealed Himself as El Roi - the God who sees.

The same God who called Hagar by name is still calling our names today - reminding us that we were never forgotten, never forsaken, and never invisible to Him.
The God Who Sees Me isn't just the title of Hagar's story; it's the anthem of mine. My prayer is that as you read, you'll begin to see what I saw - that even when lies try to shape your identity, truth has the final word.
