The paper substantiates the need to change the educational paradigm in response to information pollution, devaluation of knowledge and expansion of the consumer model of technosphere development. The author proposes the concept of ecological engineering as a systemic methodology for designing higher education by analogy with sustainable natural ecosystems. Biodiversity of formats, closed cycles of cognition, control of invasive species through niching, restoration of key species are considered as the main principles of eco-engineering. The paper contains practical solutions for the transition from the model of translation to the model of environment - the design of educational spaces where value is created in the processes of interaction and reflection. The realization of the proposed approach is considered as a condition for the formation of graduates' competences of systemic thinking, adaptability and critical literacy necessary for the development of complex techno-sphere.
