Lennie Tristano is one of the most outstanding and original pianists in jazz history. With his extremely distinctive and virtuoso playing style, his rhythmic and harmonic explorations, and his anticipation of classic free jazz, he influenced the evolution of jazz as an American art form. In addition to his artistic career, he shaped the development of jazz education like no other.
