Some bedtime stories are meant to be kept, read again and again, and shared across a hundred sleepy nights.
When the woodland grows quiet and the moon rises over the old oak, Tansy the little dormouse burrows into her twig bed and listens. Creak. Rustle. Whisper. Each small sound wakes a brand-new thought, and soon her mind is far too busy for sleep. In this heirloom-quality hardcover, children ages 3 to 6 discover, right alongside Tansy, that a busy mind does not need to be silenced, only gently understood.
A KEEPSAKE FOR COZY NIGHTS
Rich, hand-painted watercolor illustrations wrap every page in dusky indigo, moonlit cream, and soft moss green. Each spread is a small world to linger in, rewarding the slow, repeated readings that bedtime invites and that little ones ask for again and again.
A GENTLE LESSON THAT LASTS
Tansy learns to welcome each thought like a friend at the door, thank it, and set it down until morning. It is a comforting, memorable image that stays with children long after the cover closes, giving them a kind and simple way to quiet their own restless minds. In a world that often asks little ones to hurry, this is a story that gives them permission to slow down.
A WORLD WORTH RETURNING TO
Tansy's burrow beneath the old oak, with its glowing acorn lamp, twig bed, and moon-filled window, becomes a familiar and beloved place. The gentle pacing and lyrical, read-aloud language make each visit feel like tucking a child in with words, one unhurried page at a time.
