Every creak in the dark can sound like an adventure, especially to a little one who is not quite ready for sleep.
Deep beneath an old oak root, in a snug woodland bedroom with a taupe quilt and a glowing acorn lamp, Tansy the dormouse is trying to settle down. But the night is full of tiny sounds, and each one sends a new thought skittering through her mind. This gentle paperback picture book invites children ages 3 to 6 to climb into Tansy's cozy room and learn a kinder way to greet the busy thoughts of bedtime.
A SOOTHING STORY WITH A REAL-LIFE LESSON
Instead of fighting her wandering mind, Tansy learns to welcome each thought, give it a moment, and gently set it down for the night. It is a simple, powerful idea, told with soft rhythm and tender warmth, that helps children make sense of their own restless evenings. Rather than telling a child to stop thinking, this story shows them what to do with a mind that will not slow down, an approach that feels kind instead of frustrating.
STEP INTO TANSY'S COZY WORLD
From the twig bed and the taupe quilt to the little acorn lamp glowing in the corner, every detail of Tansy's burrow was made to feel safe, small, and snug. Children love returning to this warm woodland room night after night, spotting familiar comforts and settling in as the moon rises through the round window.
