Readers Agree...This book is the ULTIMATE reading companion!Love that it shows Max in what is SO normal for kids (and adults) trying new things. Nervous and excited at the same time. It shows how having a support system can really help you through self-doubt. I know this book is about a kid and a sport, but it's really SO much more. Teaching kids to believe in themselves, teaching kids it's okay to feel more than one emotion at a time, teaching other kids to be supportive of others. Love it. And the illustrations are awesome. As a rugby coach and a mom, I love this book! It really represents the teamwork needed on a rugby team and the sense of community that a team can provide. It's great that the book includes some rugby rules and how to play. It's a fantastic way to introduce rugby to little future ruggers. My 4-year-old really enjoys the story. This book is a great representation of the fact that rugby is for everyBody. Moreover, it addresses the very real fears of being new to something all while representing a happy young girl playing a contact sport!
