This novel follows the life of a 26 year old Amsterdam resident named Jip, during the autumn of 2016 and the summer of 2017. Haunted by painful unprocessed memories, he sinks further and further away in a vicious circle of hatred and disintegration. Meanwhile, he realizes that he does not achieve anything in this way and he continues to search fervently for things that can soften his emptiness. One day, however, he decides to start the confrontation with an event from the past, but does not know that in the long run he has started a process that leads to a gruesome nightmare.
