Right-wing American commie-fighters, corrupt CIA officials, President Marcos's henchmen, ruthless bandits, rebel soldiers, and old enemies conspire against and collide with Steel as he and his compatriots go for the gold. Even a WWII Japanese Army officer, unaware of his country's surrender forty years earlier, launches guerrilla assaults on Steel's jungle treks. Steel's love life is a mess, and he can't seem to go more than a couple of days without someone beating the crap out of him. Nothing finding a little gold wouldn't make better.
