Hello! My name is Roman MTT; I am a science-fiction writer from Ukraine. Space Mice is my debut in the English-language literature. Here, science fiction comes close to psychedelics, and the dynamics of the near-mystical occurring events overlaps with the strange journeys in the main characters' consciousness. The reason for that are almost innocent, but very resolute creatures from the planet of Paliantis, whom I called mice. Space Mice is the first short novel of the Inhabitable Worlds cycle. The translation of the second short novel The Revolt of the Tortoises is underway, the third part of the cycle Paliantis: the Last Orbital Turn is nearing completion. Space Mice was born several months before the war in Ukraine started. Last year, I had a little pause in my work: the military activities in Donetsk forced me and my family to leave our house and come over to Ukraine's peaceful areas. The war transformed my life dramatically. I would like to thank simple Ukrainian soldiers who protect us from terrorists. Some funds, received from the sales of the book, will be spent on treatment and rehabilitation of warriors of the Ukrainian army, who are protecting Ukraine's peaceful areas from terrorist attacks launched from the occupied Donbass region. The money will be also spent on material support of the veterans who lost the possibility to live and work normally due to mutilations, caused by the presents from the Russian military supermarket. I would also like to use this preface to thank everyone, who assisted me with this publication. It is my family, my relatives and close friends, who help me financially and encourage me with a kind word. It is my management and my colleagues, who were my first critics.
