Skarr was a name-taking, trophy-hunting, ass-kicking German brown who now weighed twenty pounds and measured thirty-five inches long. Before leaving his latest trophy on the Jefferson River, The Great Brown exchanged fish-eye stares at Simmons, eyes bulging and lifeless; Skarr's, vibrant with life, and unblinking-with the drowned CEO of Gonad Finance for the last time before speeding downstream toward Sappington Bridge and quieter waters. The great fish was the embodiment of his environment. The Continental Divide is the Rocky Mountains. Sappington Bridge on the Jefferson and Three Forks, Montana are points on the eastern flank where the divide begins to slope more gently toward the country's heartland. The names meant nothing to Skarr. Water was his world, and he didn't totally control it.
