Attending school in person can be hard for some people; when you don't have many friends, participate in activities, or feel safe, it's time to consider another option. After enrolling in a virtual school, Jamie Finch learns to find a voice using a speech-to-text program. After discovering an interest in writing poetry, finding new friends, and dealing with The One Weird Teacher, Jamie thinks that things are finally getting back to normal...until something scary happens with the computer. Is someone changing the entries on purpose? Is this speech-to-text program being monitored by an outsider? Is someone watching Jamie right now?

This suspenseful and exciting Young Adult novel is written as a series of poems, so if you love or hate poetry, you will still be able to find something you like along the way as the twisty story falls into place. If you're a fan of scary movies, thrilling television shows, creepy video games, or books you can't stop reading, Screams in the Code will keep you guessing until the very end!

Who can you trust along the way? Will Jamie make it through 8th grade safely while learning the truth behind the voices in the computer? Can you solve the puzzles throughout? Read the novel and find out!
