Finally, there's a hero to believe in. The legend of Santa Claus, when first conceived, told of a kind, generous physician named Nicholas. Long before he was thought of as a giver of gifts, he was known to be a fierce defender of exploited and enslaved children. With that age-old premise in mind, this story creates an idealistic warrior for our time; an immortal man trained by his mentor Ooby to be an expert martial artist and relentless freedom fighter for children everywhere. Far from the chubby, cherry-cheeked character of recent tradition, Nicholas is a determined protector of the innocent.
The essential elements of the Santa Claus legend persist in this retelling. There are elf-like beings called Saints, a sleigh and eight reindeer, Santa's supernatural abilities, a polar city, and a strong connection to the Christmas holiday. All are recreated in ways that complement Santa's purpose of defending children.
Santa Claus Rebooted & Revamped is collection of two books. It offers two separate, but equally thrilling adventures that tell one grand story of Nicholas's history from Medieval times to the present day.
In the first book, Santa Claus Rebooted, Nicholas and Ooby must combat a trio of London street criminals who seize control of the world's gold and threaten to cast the globe into a new form of economic bondage. Because it's Christmas Eve, the dynamic duo must defeat the deviants and finish delivering every last present before the entire holiday is lost.
In the second book, Santa Claus Revamped, Nicholas and Ooby confront a Thanksgiving Day plot to upend a bygone truce between the peaceful Saints and the humans. The dastardly scheme leaves Nicholas severely wounded and under the care of an old friend. Ooby must travel to Romania alone to seek the aid of a secret society of ancient beings. Though they are strong, Ooby's team is no match for the wicked army that is assembled against them. Only Nicholas can save Ooby and his friends, but to recuperate in time, he will need help from the most magical and powerful force in the world... true love.
