In the monograph the philosophical and methodological analysis of the long history of the development of the principle of symmetry on the material of physical science, including the boundaries of European and medieval Muslim scientific thought is carried out. Special attention is paid to the contribution of Central Asian thinkers to the development of the idea of symmetry and harmony on the example of the work of Abu Rayhan al-Biruni. The role of social harmony in the development of society and mechanisms of its achievement is noted, and also ontological and epistemological sides of studying the processes of self-formation and the concept of symmetry, asymmetry and dissymmetry in the context of reality are shown.
