This fencing manual, originally published in 1890, showcases high-level foil and sabre play, demonstrating how to make extensive use of the false edge while fencing. Murz' system is based on the guard of Prime and combines a high level of finesse with very strong striking power, and is an excellent example of a late-19th century military fencing manual prior to the widespread adaptation of Italian fencing in Hungary. The author is not shy about describing what constitutes good and bad fencing, and writes in sufficient detail to back those opinions up! An excellent addition for understanding the evolution of Prime-based sabre systems in the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
