At the center of it all is Carl Bradley, the museum's reserved, scholarly director. But when Bradley becomes missing, the truth unravels: he was a fraud, an imposter named Harold Foreman. But is he a murderer?
Merry enlists the aid of intrepid young reporter, Trixie Jones, as they explore old bell towers and venture into hidden caves searching for the historice artifacts. Old loyalties are tested, and town history threatens to rewrite the future.
