Structural Ghazal: Twenty-Six Absolute Compositions (Instructor Edition) presents twenty-six original poems constructed through recurrent structural relations distributed across ecological, geological, atmospheric, acoustic, optical, biological, and cosmological systems. Extending the recursive architecture of the ghazal beyond conventional refrain and lexical repetition, the collection develops recurrence through transformation, redistribution, threshold behavior, structural correspondence, modulation, recursion, and environmental persistence.
Rather than relying upon narrative progression or symbolic substitution, the poems operate through materially grounded relational systems. Refrains may appear explicitly, behaviorally, acoustically, syntactically, structurally, or through transformed continuities that persist across altered states. Meaning emerges through arrangement, compression, correspondence, and observable transformation rather than allegory or resolution.
Across deserts, glaciers, galaxies, frost formations, eclipse shadows, volcanic systems, migratory pathways, acoustic resonances, and atmospheric conditions, recurrent patterns migrate through changing environments while maintaining structural identity. Objects are treated not as symbols but as active participants within relational fields shaped by pressure, fracture, reflection, suspension, modulation, and persistence.
This Instructor Edition includes structural notes accompanying each composition. These notes identify the governing recurrence systems, transformational dynamics, threshold behaviors, and compositional structures operating within the poems. Functioning as analytical observations rather than interpretive conclusions, they provide readers, students, instructors, and writers with a practical introduction to structural approaches to poetic composition.
Grounded in the principles of Absolute Composition, Structural Ghazal demonstrates how recurrence may persist beyond repetition and how meaning may emerge through observable relation, structural behavior, and altered states of continuity. The result is both a collection of poems and a study of recurrence as a compositional practice.
