In this collection of 11 short stories, some of which have been previously published, the reader will discover dark, psychological stories where rooms are sometimes real, sometimes metaphorical. Whichever the case, these liminal spaces involve curses, ghosts, strange creatures, and strange people. A reader wandering through the pages will end up in settings as familiar as farms and farmer's markets, and Open Houses. But be prepared for the landscapes to morph into strange, surreal worlds. Likewise, a jaunt through isolated country houses and suburban homes, train stations, hunted mansions, and old, dusty stores selling antiquities (including a cryptid) reveal anything but the expected.

The concluding novelette, Someone's Always Saying Goodbye, is an homage to the late-great storyteller Richard Matheson and tells the story of a young couple traveling from Chicago to Bloomington, Indiana who are waylaid in a small northern Indiana town where things are not quite as they seem-if anything can seem to be real.
