-----
A compact novel of metamorphosis, The Saga of the Phoenix's Death fuses the ordinary with the mythic. An unnamed narrator wanders a city of errands and omens, haunted by a story that keeps burning back to life. Oliver Jankovic writes in quick, lucid chapters-half fable, half diary-about how we molt, how we grieve, and how meaning returns in unexpected shapes. Readers of modern fabulism and urban myth will feel at home in this bright, searching book.
