QuerÃa comprobar cómo fue el comienzo, el auge y el colapso de los paÃses que aplicaron estas polÃticas. Al mismo tiempo, he escrito este libro con la intención de transmitir al lector la historia del socialismo de la forma más amena posible, recurriendo mucho más a historias que a datos.
Este libro plasma tanto los horrores como los absurdos y contradicciones más grandes de este sistema. Todo a través de una narración sencilla y dinámica.
Por ejemplo, hay muchos relatos de personas que en la etapa marxista de la Unión Soviética cuentan cómo era normal ponerse a hacer cola en una tienda si veÃas a más gente haciendo fila. No sabÃan qué es lo que comprarÃan al llegar al mostrador de la tienda, pero asumÃan que si habÃa gente haciendo fila serÃa porque habrÃa algo para comprar. Hasta esos extremos llegó el desabastecimiento: la gente tenÃa algo de dinero ahorrado, pero era tan raro tener cosas para comprar en las tiendas, que cuando se vendÃa algo, la gente estaba dispuesta a comprar lo que fuera, y a esperar el tiempo que fuera necesario. Creo que una historia asà describe mejor que cualquier dato cómo era la vida bajo un régimen socialista.
También encontrarás casos de tortura hasta perder el conocimiento, cuotas de producción imposibles, traiciones internas, y mucho más.
La verdad es que la historia del socialismo es fascinante. Ojalá todo el mundo pudiera conocerla de manera sencilla. AyudarÃa a comprender mejor el legado de algunos territorios, asà como a prevenirnos de repetir estos errores en el futuro.
