This volume contains the speeches delivered before the Real Academia Española on May 27, 1900. It features the discourse of Emilio Cotarelo y Mori upon his reception into the Academy, alongside the response from Alejandro Pidal y Mon. These speeches offer valuable insights into the literary and cultural landscape of Spain at the turn of the century.
Cotarelo's discourse likely addresses topics relevant to Spanish language, literature, and culture, reflecting his expertise and the Academy's mission. Pidal y Mon's response provides context and commentary, enriching the understanding of the issues discussed. This historical document offers a glimpse into the intellectual life of Spain and the role of the Real Academia Española in shaping linguistic and literary standards.
