The African American couples of America has been plagued with divorce and division of the Black family structure. In this novel, you will read about some challenges that continue to keep them apart. The couple in this book Solomon and Jashee, were constantly tried and only made it through difficulty when they let Allah lead them completely. It's one thing to proclaim that you believe but another to walk with that believing faith. Forgiveness really shows a deeper love for someone. Jashee learned to follow Solomon's lead but judged him for not always being perfect. Once she dealt with her own self-love, she was able to love him through his flaws and forgive as well as forget his shortcomings. She tries to represent his feelings in this novel but can only go by what she has heard and seen. Yes this is a fiction novel but it is based on a real life love story. Toward the end you will understand that this novel that is not all true, sums up the life of a struggling black couple who are not young, but rise above emotions to fulfill why God put them together. The love will rise from lustful love to spiritual love but they must go through the fire to get there. This novel is based on my life. I am Jashee and my husband is Solomon.
