All of this was done under the so-called stewardship of a rotating cast of rulers, a surprising number of whom were complete and utter idiots. Is it worse to be a bad ruler by design, or through sheer ineptitude? Don't worry, A Shit History of Britain is packed to the rafters with both kinds of bellend.

Expect myths to be dismantled, legends to be mocked, historical figures to be mercilessly ridiculed, and the occasional 'educational' tangent about swear words and all other kinds of British bollocks. Everyone here is treated with almost equal irreverence; Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, French people cosplaying at being English, angry Welsh, even angrier Scots, and an alarming number of blokes called Edward. This is British history stripped back to its messy, chaotic and often deeply stupid reality.

Because the truth is far stranger, and much funnier, than the version you learned at school. If you prefer your history polite and proper... this probably isn't it. But if you want something funny, fast-paced, and unapologetically different... welcome to the shit show.
