In these eleven stories I traverse the landscapes of power, memory, and moral consequence, from the intimate chambers of individual conscience to the vast arenas of societal transformation.
I tried to make the act of storytelling itself, a form of inquiry here, a method for exploring problems that traditional academic discourse or political rhetoric often oversimplify. I believe, fiction allows us to inhabit multiple perspectives simultaneously, to feel the weight of competing values, to experience the texture of moral dilemmas from the inside rather than analyzing them from a comfortable distance. They recognize that the most important questions we face, about justice, belonging, loyalty, sacrifice, and truth, cannot be resolved through logic alone but require engagement with the full complexity of human experience.

I started the collection with fundamental questions of governance and justice, recognizing that how we organize our collective lives determines .The Majority Rule opens this inquiry by examining the mechanics and morality of democratic decision-making, asking what happens when the will of the many threatens the rights or dignity of the few. Democracy, after all, is not merely a counting mechanism but a set of assumptions about human equality, deliberation, and the legitimacy of collective authority. When does majority rule become majority tyranny? How do we protect minority rights without undermining democratic sovereignty? These questions have vexed political philosophers for centuries, and this story brings them to life through characters forced to navigate them in real time, with real consequences.
A Tale of Two Societies extends this investigation by placing different worldviews in conversation, or confrontation. Here, indigenous wisdom and imported ideologies, traditional governance and modern statecraft, ancestral knowledge and contemporary theory meet at the borders of understanding.
Broken Roads explores the geography of regret and possibility, the paths we chose and those we abandoned, and how the ghosts of our decisions continue to shape the landscapes we inhabit.
The Face I Cannot Forget delves into memory's persistence, the way certain encounters or relationships imprint themselves so deeply that they become part of our internal furniture, reshaping how we see ourselves and the world. This is a story about recognition, of others, of ourselves, of truths we may have spent years avoiding.
The Rising and Fall charts the trajectories of ambition, achievement, and loss, examining how individuals and communities ascend and descend, how dictators destroy, and how the very qualities that elevate us can become instruments of our undoing.
The Curative Equation brings mathematical precision to questions of wellness, suggesting that even in our most scientific endeavors, we're seeking formulas not just for physical health but for social healing, for ways to calculate our way toward justice or balance. Can we quantify health? Can we create algorithms for fairness?
The Professor's Betrayal. This story examines how institutions ostensibly devoted to truth-seeking can become sites of exploitation, how those entrusted with knowledge can weaponize it for personal gain, how the academy's noble purposes can be perverted by greed, ambition, or complicity with unjust systems.
Border-crossing, literal and metaphorical, animates Across Borders and The Equation of Altruism, recognizing that we live in a world increasingly defined by movement, migration, and the encounter with difference.
