A disillusioned man embarks on a mysterious train ride that catapults him into a metaphysical odyssey. He becomes a spectral Shadow, forced to witness the traumatic 14th-century life of his past self, Thomas. Guided by the enigmatic mentor Alfred, the man and boy journey through reality-bending landscapes and cosmic voids to confront the generational trauma that binds their soul across time, questioning the very fabric of their existence along the way. A modern-day Traveller takes a mysterious train journey that transports him to a liminal space where he chooses to explore the past, becoming a Shadow to his 14th-century incarnation, Thomas.
Alfred guides Thomas and the Shadow through a series of reality-bending, magical experiences, culminating in Thomas meeting his future self (the Shadow) and learning about their shared soul journey. The story unfolds across multiple, distinct realities. Beginning in the near-future of February 2026, grounded in a familiar world of egoic conditioning and technology, soon transitioning to a series of surreal, liminal spaces-a time-bending train platform, a cosmic void, and a blank canvas of pure potential. The story is set in the rugged, harsh landscape of 14th-century Wales in the Kingdom of Morgannwg, a world of small villages, strong community ties, and a deep connection to nature and Celtic spirituality. These settings are interwoven with abstract, magical realms created by Alfred's power. Built on the concept of reincarnation and the soul's evolution, the Traveller's journey into Thomas's life is not merely observational; it's a mission to understand and heal the generational trauma of abandonment that has echoed through their shared soul's lineage, manifesting as a blockage in the Traveller's modern life. The story constantly challenges the boundary between the physical and metaphysical. Alfred's teachings, particularly the cosmic spider web and the circle-and-dot analogy, emphasize that one's internal state-thoughts, beliefs, and emotions-actively shapes their external world. Appearing as the emerald line of ancestry and the emerald door Thomas learns to create portals and doorways that represent the ability to transcend linear time and physical limitations, serving as magical gateways between lives, realities, and states of consciousness.
