John the Baptist and his mother, Elisabeth, are radicals. In The Scroll we witness their bold ideas loosening the hard-packed soil of futile traditions. While John challenges the lack of preparation for Messiah, his mother tackles women not being allowed reading the sacred Scrolls. Elisabeth secretly helps those around her use scripture as a soothing balm. Tragedy strikes. How will being widowed rearrange Elisabeth's future? Will she, and the women she's risked teaching, build spiritually renewed relationships? Meanwhile, John's frustrations about ritual washings inspire him to revolutionize baptism. Lives become transformed. Are Temple rituals failing? God's word unveils Messiah who changes everything. Is Jesus's presence enough when our world is unraveling? Yes, eternally fulfilling; God's word unfurled. Anni Reed is passionate about inspiring our identity and intimacy in Christ. She enjoys leadership roles in her church and public speaking. She's published genres ranging from co-authoring educational tools to writing music for an Off, Off Broadway play. She loves volunteering playing music in nursing homes, sailing and visiting family in Alaska (the place where she has spent most of her life). She spends winters in North Carolina.
