The thousand-year war finally ends when Kye Naan of the Mezniks utilizes the power of a mystical weapon known as the Scepter to bring the war-mongering Vandakors to their knees. The secrets of the Scepter were kept hidden by the Meznik leader to protect it from those seeking to possess its powers. The world was able to enjoy 30 years of peace after Kye Naan was able to destroy the Vandakor forces. That era became known as the End of Wars.
That peace is soon threatened after Gerras Weynrook, one of Kye Naan's most loyal allies, reports him missing to the Meznik Elders. The secrets of the Scepter slowly come to light. Kye Naan's allies soon learn the Scepter was created by a creature from another dimension known as Wizlorr who needs the Scepter to feed upon the souls from the inhabitants of Ay'zarrius so it may plant its footing in the physical world and control it for its survival. As this creature gains its strength to retain the Scepter, Kye Naan has hidden his presence and the location of the Scepter to keep the beast at bay.
In his absence, Kye Naan's closest friends and family fight to suppress the evil he had fought to contain, and seek to discover his whereabouts. Not only must Kye Naan make himself available in time to reveal the true powers of the Scepter and face the demons threatening the world, but he must also face those personal demons within himself who allowed him to place those he cares most about in Wizlorr's path.
