It is structural: the predictable result of a culture that dismantled its own grounds for judgment and then mistook the wreckage for virtue. A tradition that learned to question everything lost the one principle that made criticism coherent: that the same standard must apply to all.
Moving from Lyotard and the rise of suspicion, through Foucault's fascination with the Iranian revolution, to the manufacture of intellectual taboos and the tragedy of modern Iran, the book treats Islam not as a community to defend or attack, but as a paradigm to understand. What emerges is both a diagnosis of Western intellectual decline and the outline of a way out: the return of consistent, fearless, universal critique.
