Omar, a College graduate heading into work after having just moving back to Chicago. When he gets to work his uncle is upset that he's late. His uncle is Rico, a nickname that he's had since he was young. Rico has been caring for omar since omar was young, Omar has resentment towards his uncle because he doesn't know why he's with his uncle and not his parents, he doesn't know any history about them, Omar has just assumed they're dead. He also knows from fan pages and archived news that his parents were top-level organized criminals who dealt drugs and other black market businesses.
That night Omar finds his uncle committing a crime, or at least he thinks that his uncle is committing a crime, with his knowledge from school he realized the restaurant has always been earning too much money and now he saw a shady business exchange of cash. Seeing this made Omar believe all the things that he read, after he heard not to ever live in the streets and watching his friends that did make tons of money, it upset him and he went right to his friend, Dom. Dom was a drug dealer who job was to deliver new shipments to the distributing gangs across all of chicago. So Omar decides to help him that night.
This short novel is inspired by a true story. It was originally a movie script but due to the current climate I still wanted this story to be told, so I spent everyday for 4 months converting a movie script to a trilogy. I believe if you enjoy power struggling shows and organized crime without the cops involvement then you'll enjoy Rico and Omar. it's fast paced and action packed. There's drugs, sex and coming of age story. In our climate, a good action crime novel read like this will invoke in you personal feelings and connection to this book.
