Being barbecued in public was an effective deterrent to a loose tongue. A subgroup or super-group of people... it all depends on how you look at it. Not defined by race, sex, or age. But defined by faith. They were know of as the Whispered. Were they like superheros or something? Not really. People mistakenly believed they have powers. And in a way they do. But mostly these powers can't be used for their benefit. They were only a conduit for the Power of God to do the miraculous on the willing recipient. They were very rare in past years, but becoming more common lately.
